A Dark Confession
I have a confession to make. Up until about a year ago, I had never heard of the name Olight. I didn’t know what I was missing.
Out of nowhere, some nice folks from the company asked me if I’d be interested in trying out their flashlights. Not being one to ever turn down free stuff, I immediately said, “Yes.”
The first light I got was the Seeker 4 Pro.
My personal Olight Seeker 4 Pro is my favorite flashlight and part of my everyday carry. No one borrows it.
The Feel of Quality
Immediately after unboxing the Olight Seeker 4 Pro, I loved the way it felt in my hand. It was solid, the way things used to be built. I smiled and closely looked it over. It is expertly machined out of aircraft-grade aluminum and has a textured silicone grip in the center to make sure it never gets away from you.
I immediately tried tapping the tail to turn it on, but that’s not how this flashlight works. It has an ergonomically placed textured button on the front that you press with your thumb, which quickly becomes second nature. Now, the magic begins: Rotate the button / dial clockwise, and the beam becomes brighter. Rotate it counterclockwise, and it becomes dimmer. It is infinitely adjustable, and it is only as bright as you need it to be.
Brightness up to 11
Before, with most of my other similarly styled flashlights, it was either on or off, with maybe one or two steps in between. You can dial this baby up to 11 if need be when you’re outside during a pitch-black night and need to see something on the top of a tree 100 meters or so away. This literally turns night into day. I’m not kidding, Up until now I was never satisfied with the brightness of my flashlights. Now I am. And I’m picky; ask anyone.
If you turn it up to its full 4,600 lumens indoors, it will hurt your eyes. But there is no need to do that since you can dial in just the right amount of light for any given situation.
Use it in the strobe mode, and you have quite an effective self-defense tool. I know. I accidentally strobed myself once and was stumbling around with spots before my eyes for a few minutes. The family thought it was hilarious.

Battery Life
Did I mention the battery life yet? Probably not, because I think I’ve only had to charge it twice the whole time I’ve owned it. The Seeker4 Pro features a Customized 3.6V 5000mAh 21700 Lithium-ion Battery. Suffice it to say you will get many, many hours of life on one charge of this battery unless you go full supernova mode all of the time, and I doubt you’ll do that. When it is time to charge the battery, simply snap on the magnetic charging base, and you’re good to go.
Size-wise, it will fit nicely into your pocket at 5.24 inches long and 1.10 inches around. It weighs 7.23 oz with the battery installed. Like I said, hefty, not heavy. There is a difference.
Let’s see… what else? Oh, it comes with a holster if you don’t feel like sticking the flashlight in your pocket. It is built to the IPX8 water resistance standard, so you don’t have to worry about being out in the pouring rain with this. The throw of the light at max brightness is 260 meters, about two and a half football fields, so there is no need to worry about lighting up what is in front of you.
Did I mention that it turns light into day? It provides all the light you need for safety and for showing off.
Now, I’m a huge Olight fan. I own everything from the Arkfeld Pro (a flat everyday carry light with a flashlight, green laser, and UV light) to the Olantern music LED lantern with stereo speakers (it’s just what it sounds like), no pun intended.
