BLADENSBURG, Md. — Firefighters from the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department were the first-due engine company at a house fire on Dec. 4 in Prince George’s County.

The crew of Engine 809 faced fire on the first floor and began an aggressive attack to locate the trapped occupant. Unfortunately, the occupant was found deceased.

Three other occupants managed to escape from the fire.

Firefighters returned to the neighborhood the following day to check smoke detectors and provide fire prevention information to residents.
